RIP Kaz Suyeishi

Kaz, I'm so deeply sorry I didn't hear about your passing until just recently.

In my eyes, you possessed an amazing spirit that inspired me to fight for what I was passionate about. Your courage has touched many hearts and has given many people hope during these desperate times. The Hibakusha team and I feel incredibly blessed and honored to have been a part of your amazing journey. Getting the chance to tell your story has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Thanks to your contributions as well as other hibakusha to the disarmament campaign, the international awareness to abolish nuclear weapons has been recognized just recently by the Nobel Peace Prize committee.

Although I am saddened by this news, your story will live on through us and your fight for love will always continue.

May peace prevail on Earth.
